Important information
What Tax 4Life is, how it handles your evidence, and where to look next.
A prepared, reviewed return — not a substitute for a practitioner
Tax 4Life gathers your documents, reconciles them against your tax profile, prepares a return using the versioned rule set for that tax year, and hands it back to you for review. You approve every material figure. Where a decision is material or novel, we surface it and support routing to a registered tax practitioner or chartered accountant.
Evidence retention and what goes to SARS
For ordinary ITR12 filing, SARS uses supporting material to complete the return; documents are generally retained by the taxpayer for at least five years and are only provided to SARS when the process requires them or SARS specifically requests them. Your evidence trail stays in your secure workspace and is retained for review; documents are sent to SARS only when the applicable process requires it or SARS asks for them.
Rule-set versioning
Each tax year uses a versioned rule set with an effective-date and last-verified record. The version applied to a return is shown alongside the calculation. Rule updates are logged and traceable per figure.
Live submission is disabled
Live SARS submission is disabled until an authorised, verified integration or assisted filing workflow exists. Readiness state for each integration is visible in the admin dashboard.
Early access & the demo
The public product is in early access. The interactive walkthrough at /demo uses fictional personas and static seeded data — nothing there touches SARS.
